Masochist is a hardcore punk band from the Northern Rivers in New South Wales with a socially conscious message of empowerment and inclusivity. Lyrically tackling things such as sexual assault, mental illness, misogyny in the music scene and the blatant racism and lack of empathy from governing bodies, the band brings a raw look at things they believe aren't talked about enough- in the hopes to bring positive action from these negatives. In 2018 they released their second EP "Blinded", put out through Life.Lair.Regret Records (Melbourne) who described it as "feminist punk fury”, and they are currently working on their first full length album to be released 2021. In terms of live shows, the band has aimed to play diverse and inclusive line ups, and have also supported prominent names in the Australian punk/hardcore scene, as well as international acts. Masochist has joined line ups with Propagandhi (CAN), Comeback Kid (CAN), RVIVR (USA), Clowns, Pagan, Mindsnare, Trail of Lies ...
