Matt Hawkins is a Brisbane-based singer-songwriter, whose influences include Paul Kelly, The Lemonheads, The Simpletons, Darren Hanlon, Robert Forster and others. Having played in Brisbane bands for some time, in late 2019, he decided to go it alone! "Bridge of Stories", a song inspired by Brisbane author Trent Dalton's debut novel, 'Boy Swallows Universe', was released early 2020. "Never Too Far", a duet about a couple kept apart by a pesky global pandemic, co-written by Aleta Booth, was Matt's second single. Matt's latest single is "The Ocean Can't Hold My Love", the tale of three children who changed the life of a Brisbane teacher.
