Bio

With eclectic, authentic and craftier storytelling than your average, Brisbane singer songwriter Megan Cooper is a name that has been earning praise since the release of her EP North in 2010.

Her debut album, Ghost Choirs & Kings, produced by Michael Muchow (Hillbilly Killers), was released in late 2013 and the first two singles Virginia Fall and 27 Degrees have been receiving national airplay. A collection of 12 songs penned by Cooper, the album is full of personal stories, sweet melodies - all with a sting in the tale.

"Her debut album Ghosts, Choirs & Kings announces her as one of the most striking voices in Australian Country (Noel Mengel)" and received 4.5 star review in the Sydney Morning Herald (Anje Sjostedt).

On stage, Cooper breaks hearts with a “voice that is born to sing country – one part little girl sweet, one part knowing/world-weary” (Martin Jones, Rhythms Magazine). Her delivery spans the quirky to the high lonesome, in an honest to goodness, hometown, alt-country fashion.
