About
In 1989 at the age of five, Megan made her public debut, singing Dolly Parton’s ‘Coat of Many Colours’ at Mt Isa’s Spinifex Country Music Club. Coming from a strong and close knit Aboriginal family, these family influences guided Megan's love of all music. Learning many different instruments within the music programs at school, Megan settled on guitar, bass and voice as her main focus. This was documented in a video and was screened as an element in Megan’s performance in ‘Women In Voice’ (QPAC) in 2006 - Brisbane. In between these two events Megan has sung everywhere you can sing in Mt Isa and Far North Queensland. She was the standout local performer in the 2003 Queensland Music Festival production ‘Bob Cat Dancing’ where she met composer John Rodgers, director Sean Mee, musical director Jamie Clark and Leah Cotterell – who was singing in the band.
