Dave McLachlan also known as Merch, has been writing music for many years; playing in, and jamming with, various bands and musicians in South Australia since his school days. Merchs' debut solo album 'Make a Change' was a collection of songs written over the ten years following his schooling, and was his first release of many album ideas. Merch was born in Cleve, and lived in a small coastal, country town called Arno Bay on the Eyre Peninsula, where many of the songs from 'Make a Change' were written as a teenager. Following the release of his debut album, Merch has delivered yet another great collection of songs through his latest creative outlet entitled 'Learning to levitate'. Through which he has reached a confident and competent level of songwriting that he hasn't reached in the past. Merch has combined various musical styles including folk, rock, jazz, blues, roots, and pop, to create his acoustic sound.
