Bio

Mercury White have just released their new single ‘Déjà vu C'est la vie’, taken from their upcoming EP ‘Sophisticate’ which was recorded at the luscious Jungle Studios with ARIA Nominated Producer Lachlan Mitchell.

Honing in on their signature Indie/Electro rock sound, and sparing none with their hypnotizing melancholia, ‘Déjà vu C'est la vie’ is a true evolution of sounds for the Melbourne 5-piece.

Since forming in 2010, Mercury White have maintained a blistering pace, sharing stages with The Hoodoo Gurus, The Angels, Getaway Plan, Red Ink, Amy Meredith, Evermore, British India and Art VS Science, just to name a few.

In December 2013, Mercury White won the Australian Emergenza Band Competition, going on to perform in Germany at the Taurbertal Festival World Final in August 2014. They placed 4th out 18 finalists from around the world.

It’s hard to find a space on the wall for a new band to fill, but Mercury White has found one hell of a gap! Inspired by bands such as Muse, Bloc Party and Arcade Fire, Mercury White combine their vast musical knowledge to create an indie pop wall of sound not seen in this day and age. Their use of male & female vocal harmonies, edgy introspective melodies and undeniable pop/rock appeal shows us that live music can only get stronger from here on in.

Not only is Mercury White a band that is a pleasure on the ears, they’re also very well known for their mesmerizing live performances. Having mastered their craft, polished their instruments and thrown on their game face, they’re ready to create a storm!

Are you ready for Mercury White?

Awesome sounds!!
Love these guys, love this song and have been lucky enough to see them live in their BEST form.
Definitely worth a night out for live music and a boogie.

A sombre rock anthem sounding like Bruce Hornsby crossed with Muse. The band create a big atmospheric sound. The violins give the songs a unique twist while the piano holds the various elements together. On top of this the husky, gravelly vocals add to the emotion of the song.

A soft but deep rock ballad reminiscent of early Live. The combination of lead piano and guitar creates a great contrast of soft heartfelt emotion and roaring rock. As a result all kinds of textures and colour come flowing out across the duraiton of the track.
