    About

Procreations, repatriation, acquiring homes and losing bones... Life happens and The Mercy Beat grew up. It’s 9 years since The Mercy Beat released its debut album How To Shampoo A Yak back in 2010, and ten years since it was recorded at the legendary Zero Interference with Bryce Moorhead. To acknowledge the passing of time and the digital revolution that has occurred since then, How To Shampoo A Yak will be available to stream from all the usual places from this Halloween (31 Oct 19). As spooky and cool and contrived as that sounds, it also marks another anniversary for the band. It was 5 years ago in late October 2014 that the band began recording its second album, Pure Musk. The drums were recorded on a weekend in October at the White Rooms studio at Mt Nebo with all round top bloke Neil Coomb. The rest was all self-recorded by the band in toilets and wardrobes and bedrooms in a share house over nights and weekends in November and December 2014. Thanks roomies for being so ...
