Bio

Mick Melit is a musician, songwriter, educator and recording engineer. He holds academic degrees and is an experienced teacher, performer and recording engineer. As a professional musician, Mick has years of professional experience, with loads of professional gigs including ANZ stadium, The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and The Brisbane Entertainment Centre. He has nearly completed his second album of original songs to be released August 2009 and has pre released a couple of songs off the album for JJJ unearthed.(Why not - Fossils need to be unearthed too!!) Over the years, Mick has had the pleasure of sharing the stage as a backing musician and band member for acts such as Phil Emmanuel, , Marty Rhone, Frankie J Holden and has supported acts like Mental As Anything and Noiseworks. On most days Mick can be found in his studio in his role as songwriter. He has amassed an extensive catalogue of original music. As an educator, Mick is Lecturing Part time at Southbank Institute's Contemporary Music Course and works as a part time guitar and vocal teacher. He has worked as a Music Coach for Weekend Warriors, coach and performer at Boardroom Blitz at Brisbane Entertainment Centre, and Music Coach for creactive education at Brisbane Powerhouse. He has also produced educational Publications, “The Little Aussie Guitar Book” and “Studies in Contemporary Guitar” His involvement in Community projects has included Flood relief concerts in Rockhampton, Session guitar and mixing on “Speak From The Heart” Project for Cerebral Palsy League, Live performance for “Speak From The Heart” CD launch for Cerebral Palsy League, Charity concert for Ron Power memorial.

Liked the guitar intro. Reminded a bit like the early Canned Heat stuff from the late sixties/earli seventies for those that can remember. Wihtout the high vocals of course like they did in "On the Road Again".
