About
MIDWEST are a young band with broad horizons. Arguably one of Brisbane’s best kept secrets in post-hardcore, their recently released debut EP quickly caught the attention of influential label Resist Records - home of Parkway Drive - landing them a lucrative support with internationally acclaimed heavyweights La Dispute (US) and Pianos Become the Teeth (US) on their recent tour of Australia. Musically speaking, MIDWEST is anchored either end of a bi-polar spectrum – plenty of rough edges but with some respite, so sincerity is not lost in all the noise. Triple J presenter Dave Ruby Howe was quick to praise the band’s single Built to Break for these dynamic shifts in mood, with the track earning rotation on Triple J Unearthed and a top 10 spot in the Unearthed punk charts.
