Bio

Minorfauna are an electronic duo channeling alternative R&B and the darker side of modern hip-hop. Based in Melbourne, Australia, and inspired by artists such as FKA Twigs and Kelela, Abbey Hansen (vocals) and Kyle Setch (production) turn out a brand of experimental pop that sits just left-of-center. With an eclectic sound that isn’t exactly reminiscent of any one creative predecessor, Minorfauna are one of the more intriguing new artists to emerge out of Melbourne’s colourful inner North.

Originally from opposite ends of Queensland, Minorfauna formed after a mutual friend suggested they pair up. Both working on other projects at the time, Kyle and Abbey bonded over a shared love of Travis Scott and true crime documentaries. Minorfauna’s debut EP ‘Myself’ was written and recorded back and forth between Melbourne and Queensland. Exploring themes of trust, self-criticism, revenge, and feelings of inadequacy, 'Myself' is an intimate project about confusion and identity.

After finding their creative rhythm and building a reputation for an ever evolving engaging live performance, Minorfauna are set to release their debut EP ‘Myself’ independently in September 2018

I really like where the vocals sit in this eclectic, tactile mix. The voices keep flickering like an elusive tiger stalking its prey in the jungle. Well, you caught me.

Would that we could all have a song like this written about us. Instinctual energy throbbing behind this track.
