Bio

Walawani.
We’re Miribi Bunbal – Yidaki Bumawa from Ulladulla High School on the South Coast of NSW. We’ve been together for the last few years, and our music has taken us from Southern Stars at the Entertainment Center in the Gong to Lake Mungo to Studio 301 in Sydney.

Our crew is made up of fellas from year 7 to year 11, from lots of different mobs, along with some non-indigenous mates. The didg is one thing that has connected us all. While the didg is not traditional to our area, we've adopted it as a way of connecting with and celebrating our broader culture.

We aim for a meshing of old and new – honouring the tradition of the didgeridoo while incorporating it in a contemporary context.

Potency on display from this group! A lot of heart and heritage put into this track.

this should be on the third (please be making one) season of cleverman. it's dark and driving and the mix of traditional and modern sounds is awesome.

What a beautifully textured soundscape you've created. Takes me to another place.
