LILY LOTUS ORCHID SUNFLOWER OUT NOW Emerging from the steamy Brisbane summertime haze is MKO; a fresh injection of comic colour and street-chic sound. The four-piece electro/R&B/future-pop outfit have already been repeatedly compared to James Blake, Little Dragon, The Dirty Projectors, Cornelius and Erykah Badu in their fresh 15 months as a unit; and are ready to raise the stakes even higher with new EP Lily Lotus Orchid Sunflower, out March 22 on Bird Fire Records. LLOS is packed full of wicked and wonky beats, dastardly synth and bass lines, warped 90s dance music samples and epic backing vocal chorales. Ms MKO holds every little electro glitch and reversed synth pad in place with four knockout, hugely dynamic vocal takes; vocal tones range from childlike whisper, to African-inspired tribal chorus, to full-pelt operatic soprano. Every last detail and flourish has been masterfully crafted to its absolute peak by producer and repeat MKO collaborator Peet G. With LLOS's first single Snarly snatching the attention of a number of Triple J presenters, as well as a plethora of feature interviews and online reviews from such reputable organisations as Mercedez-Benz Mixed Tape, Who The Hell, The Orange Press, It's My Kind Of Scene, and The AU Review, MKO now are now ready for second EP Lily Lotus Orchid Sunflower to bloom. The month of April will see them tour the EP both as one of the acts in Bird Fire's The Pink Dove Show all-star super-bill, and headlining side-shows throughout. "The beats. The basslines. The bubblegum vocals. Brisbane 4-piece MKO are on to something." Triple J. "Too many great things happening here to quantify this is as just a great single. Music on my computer usually plays in the background, but I closed all my windows just to pay attention to this one." Whothehell.net "The first single from MKO’s EP Lily Lotus Orchid Sunflower is such a pleasant experience from start to end I’ve literally pressed play over and over..." - It's My Kind of Scene "Not sure if you’ve heard the first single, “Snarly”, but they have certainly upped the anti... safe to say, I’m swooning." Moustache Magazine. "It's like Cornelius covering The Dirty Projectors on a red cordial bender." - Dom Alessio, Triple J. "MKO are putting Brisbane on the map of urban electronic soul in the same vein as Quandron, Little Dragon, AlunaGeorge and James Blake." - Mercedes Benz Mixed Tape

Beautiful vocal, slow dance music, nice drop and payoff halfway through. My only feedback is to maybe make that wait a little shorter... the first half got a bit repetitive before the song kicked in. But when it does, it's magic. Great stuff.
