Bio

Album "Suburban Cinema" due September 2018.

" For this album I've gone back to recording and playing all the instruments at home on my own. In some ways I feel these new songs are as honest and true to myself as I've ever been on record, with a new-found lyrical directness only hinted at previously. I've thrown a few new things in the mix - including real drums alongside machines, analog synths next to digital patches and virtual guitars blended with battered acoustics. Basically whatever was at hand to make the songs work musically, while allowing the stories within room to breathe. I hope you enjoy it. - Brendan Wixted

Previous commentary :
“Sydney has soul after all” - NZ herald
“Nostalgic and surreal…great addictive songs” - alt media.net
“One of our finest songsmiths” - Melbourne Herald Sun
“The Model School has a genuine charm” - Craig Mathieson, The Age

I was a fan of your last album, and you're retaining that current of melody and joining in some anthemic new parts. Driving track! It reminds me of a summer's night at the Hoey (RIP) or something. Thanks Model School.
