Bio

Following a busy 2020 that saw them release their sophomore album 'Morning People' and sign a global publishing deal with Mirror Music/BMG, The Money War are back with a brand new single Miles Away. The dreamy new track was recorded in their home studio in Fremantle, and is taken from their forthcoming EP due out later this year. “Miles Away is about being disconnected from somebody that you love - in more of an emotional way than the literal sense. It’s about that disheartening feeling you have when somebody close to you doesn’t seem to be on the same page or can’t understand your perspective on things” Carmen explains.

Since their formation in 2016, their success has seen them tour nationally with the likes of Meg Mac, Dope Lemon, Holy Holy and Neil Finn, who hand-selected them to open for him after hearing their music. They have toured internationally at such festivals as Southbound, FOTSUN and SXSW. They’ve amassed over a million streams and numerous playlist adds on Spotify, secured airplay on radio stations across the globe including BBC6 (UK), KCRW (USA), NPR (USA) and cracked college radio charts in the US. In Australia, multiple singles received airplay on RTR, FBi, 4zzz and Double J, and ‘Recall’ went on to be Triple J’s 5th most played track of 2017.

In 2019, the band’s debut album ‘Home’ was nominated for a The Australian Music Prize – the coveted national accolade that celebrates artistic merit and exceptional songwriting.

In addition to writing and recording as The Money War, Dylan also works as a producer and has written songs and worked in the studio with the likes of Meg Mac, Tia Gostelow, Tim Carroll (Holy Holy), Lucky Oceans and Riley Pearce.

You make this one feel comfortable as a well warmed doona while hiding deceptively barbed lines amongst it that suddenly make you a little forlorn... a little sad.

It's just what the doctor ordered for day....uh, whatever day of lockdown it is today. Gorgeous and mellowing from a pair that knows their craft inside and out.
