Motion Picture Actress is the brainchild of Brisbane based producer Tom Brydon and began in 2011 when the artist released his first EP Natural Ghost, this followed a jazz inspired atmospheric approach to electronic Hip Hop and was picked up by various national, and international, blogs and radio stations, including multiple features on the bandcamp homepage.
Since releasing his second EP See Water at the end of 2012 Brydon has joined the stage with artists Lorde, Jonwayne, The Kite String Tangle, and Charles Murdoch adding to his extensive repetoire of supports including; Chet Faker, Fishing, Oliver Tank, Cosmo’s Midnight, and Lapalux, just to name a few.

Now well versed in combining infectious rythms with dreamy vocals and manic percussion, Brydon has spent the year developing his sound for the next MPA release (think Shlomo, Nicolas Jaar and Dorian Concept, but with his own distinct feel), as well as working with a drummer for future live shows.

I really like surprises when it comes to music, and this song is full of them. There's a bit of Animal Collective in the way it's produced and a bit of very current sounding Australian electronica too. Cool song dude!

Great playful production here, dancing all over the place and held together with a solid song. Nicely done.

I like this rush of mutated electronics that MPA's got going on. And a nice hearty thump to it too. Impressive.
