Bio

My Elephant Ride make cosmic and soulful indie pop. In late 2016 the Melbourne three-piece released their debut album 'Into The Jungle', a ramshackle smorgasbord of bold harmonies, pastoral melodies and psychedelic musings.

Mixed with the help of Stu Mackenzie (King Gizzard) and Simon Lam (Kllo), with accompanying artwork and video clips by artist Dr D Foothead (Babe Rainbow), the album was hailed for its sweet blend of “hazy guitars, tinkling keys and smoky vocal lines” (The Music). Amidst sharing stages with the likes of Dope Lemon, Ocean Alley and Flyying Colours, the band were thrilled when their video was premiered on Rage (ABC) for their debut single ‘In The Water’, and dubbed ‘one of the most impressive local videos of the year’ (Tonedeaf).

The three core members of My Elephant Ride (Joe Berridge, Chevaunne Keleher and Nathan Abbey) have spent the past year writing and producing their second full-length record. Working on ‘Beyond The Skin’ long distance between Bali and Melbourne, the group have closely collaborated with Simon Lam (Kllo) to hone a more pop-oriented sound while honouring their individual idiosyncrasies.

Exploring love, gender, sexuality, faith and what lies on the other side, ‘Beyond The Skin’ is due to be released early 2019!!!
