Bio

Originally a one-man bedroom recording project started by Kieran Sullivan, Naked quickly recruited collaborators and mainstays Jordan Marson (Paint Your Golden Face) and Robert Fisher (myblackson). The band featured drummers Will Mann (Treehouse) and Sam Harrison (Phat Meegz), before settling on a three piece lineup with percussion duties shared between all three members and an iPhone drum app.

Naked has released several self-recorded digital albums and EPs, as well as a cassette through Rough Skies Records and a split seven-inch with Newcastle post-hardcore punks Lenin Lennon via Wrong Place and Y202 Records. They've been lucky enough to share the stage with such quality Australian acts as Regurgitator, Dick Diver, The UV Race, Per Purpose, Baseball, Spinning Rooms, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, East Brunswick All Girls Choir and countless others, as well as landing a slot at New Zealand’s legendary Camp A Low Hum festival in 2013.

Naked toured the east coast in February 2016 in support of their debut LP, Pink Quartz. Engineered by Simon Maisch (All The Weathers, Treehouse) and mastered by Marly Luske (Kitchen’s Floor, Sky Needle), the record jumps from quick catchy punk numbers through ambient soundscapes and harsh noise freak-outs all the way to doom metal and back again. The album was recorded in Coles Bay, just outside Freycinet National Park on Tasmania’s east coast.

Pink Quartz available now at tenthcourt.bandcamp.com

The first single, 'Sprinters of The World Unite' (video by Georgia Lucy of fellow Hobart band All The Weathers), can be viewed here.

Heard this on the band's new release, Pink Quartz, and it confirms them a really interesting band that makes quite raw music that comes from a off-beat but nonetheless focused perspective.
