Upon his arrival home from New York in early 2007, and the culmination of his band, the Jungle People, Nick Lovell packed up home in Melbourne and followed a call to the sea. Setting up house in Ocean Grove, Nick started sketching his next record. With the birth of his first child imminent, a change was coming. On the threshold of amazing journeys, complications and confusion can prevail. Instead, a beautiful simplicity shone through. Nick’s demos embodied the evocative spirit and experiences of the past, drawing a line toward his future sound. The richness of his material, the maturity of his instrumentation, and the raw soul in his vocal, did not change: they blossomed.
