While some musicians sing from the heart, Nicolette Forte surrenders her whole being. Her instinctively soulful voice is charged with emotion, bolstered by an effortless on-stage charisma, all the while embodying her own characterful, organic style. A bundle of energy as a child, Forte was often lulled to sleep by her sister’s renditions of Crowded House ballads and Mix tapes filled with 90’s pop. Unknowingly, she was receiving music lessons by osmosis. Forte’s bohemian youth saw her travel the country in independent theatre troupes, learning firsthand the power of storytelling, and honing her stagecraft. In 2012, Forte recorded a poignant assemblage of songs drawn from her experiences at home and on the road. Her debut EP Rescue Me was independently released to a sold-out audience of over 250 patrons.
