Bio

In the summer of early 2017, two teens with big dreams emerged from the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne. Realising they could make music better together, Laura and Hayley formed nightlight, creating sweet synth-pop rap that is good for the soul. The duo have established themselves as producers and performers to be reckoned with, creating a genre-bending blend of lush, dark and danceable music.

nightlight boast an impressive performance repertoire including shows at The Workers Club and Laundry Bar, not to forget last year’s debut festival performance at Soothsayer x I OH YOU’s City Loop Day Party amongst phenomenal acts including Channel Tres, Miss Blanks and Kllo. nightlight shared the stage with Bec Sandridge for their debut EP launch in 2018, and have seen their headline and supporting shows packed with friends and fans alike.

The young guns have taken inspiration from acts as far apart as MGMT and Little Simz to weave together tunes that make you want to dust off your dancing shoes. nightlight’s sonic sound can be traced back to their roots, taking an experimental approach to their music with influences ranging from synth-laden pop to bouncy hip-hop beats.

The duo have risen from the dead after months of writing and recording to release 'Angel', their newest track inspired by Melbourne's summer vibes and the joys and imperfections of love. This October 25th, join nightlight at their single launch party as they spin their new single at The Retreat Hotel!

this one has a heck of a turn of pace. i thought it was about to go into katy perry's 'teenage dream' too as a strange side note.
