Bio

Nothing Really is a four-piece indie/alternative band from the inner north suburbs of Melbourne. Channelling the indie-rock introspection of bands like Snail Mail and Soccer Mommy, Nothing Really’s considered approach to making music is both genuine and focused. Lead singer Vic Austin unpacks the complexity of the relationships we share, gently wrestling with the discomfort of what it means to be flawed and fallible.

2018’s debut single Heirloom and 2019’s New Skin both found airtime on Triple J alongside high praise from the crew – “Can’t. Stop. Listening” – Claire Mooney, “It’s compelling songwriting” – Declan Byrne. The past year has seen the group share stages with international acts and local staples, including Foxing (USA), Press Club, Bec Stevens and more.

it's a stomach knotting emotion that nothing really creates and this one traverses the highs and lows.

My favourite from you four yet! Waves of emotion just simmering away here. Moody, but a light at the end of the tunnel. And you can really feel that in those breaks and sounds. That guitar melody really ties everything together and gives it a big lift. The ending is triumphing.

it's an emotional grower and if you give it them time it might even give you a big hug.
