Since their formation in 2010, Oh Pacific have rapidly – and effectively - established their own ‘uplifting, ethereal style’ (Jake Schatz – Tonedeaf, 2012) of alternative grunge rock.
Following the success of their two previous E.P.’s ‘Build from Design’ and ‘De/Construct’, they have recently released one of two singles from their upcoming, yet-to-be-named album. The first single, ‘Last Year’, is currently available for purchase on iTunes.
Despite the increased performance pressures associated with playing large festivals - such as Groovin’ the Moo – and with well-known acts, including Birds of Tokyo, The Getaway Plan and Tonight Alive, the boys have managed to retain the self-deprecating charm and larrikinism that have seen them engage so successfully with their fans.
The band that rehearsed to drink beer, and once told Beat Magazine (2012) that everyone should come and see their band ‘because Tim (bass player) will buy you a beer, maybe. Probably not…’ has become so much more.
Now based in Melbourne, having spent countless hours commuting between there and Bendigo, Oh Pacific are currently gearing up for an all-out assault on the Melbourne music scene.
