OXBLVD - n. ['oks-bluhd]

Born in the Delta and hammered down the rail with blood, sand and whiskey, OXBLVD rises from the ashes with a fire and brimstone of foot-stomping blues and barnstorming folk. OXBLVD may hail from Sydney, Australia, but their heart and soul lies in the glowing coals of American swamp rock and river blues. It's a sound that sits at the table of Mississippi and then rips the chair out from under all your preconceptions, getting you on the dance floor with smokey heartbreak, soulful memories and swigging from lightning in your rock and roll bottle.

The journey of OXBLVD is one built of the foursome's musical strength and prowess. All multi-instrumentalists in their own right, each member brings their stories and talents to the table to give the audience an experience of heartshake harmonies and the snaking moans of pulsing drums and trembling guitar riffs. From the tenderness of "My Lady" and "Tease Me", to the muddy blues and stomp of "Got My Pipe (Oh! Oh!)" and "Half Smoked Cigarette", OXBLVD has no problem strumming heart strings, rattling bones and crushing the audience with a barrage of bourbon soaked licks.

The past 18 months have been a flurry of activity, embarking on both National and International tours. October 2013 found them on some of America's premiere stages with shows at the infamous Viper Room in LA, the historic Sahara Lounge in Austin (where they did a month long residency) and at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC. They were also invited to perform on the Music Television Network, AXStv, where they performed to a live studio audience.

The most recent tour found them once again on the shores of America, performing at the Sounds Australia Aussie BBQ and a headlining gig at The Mint in LA. Back in Austin, OXBLVD performed 8 showcases during the SXSW Music Week, including the Sounds Australia Gallery Showcase and the WillowWood Music Showcase where their performance made the “Top 7 Showcases at SXSW” on the tastemaker music blog, Free People.

With Australian tours alongside the likes of The Bamboos, Graveyard Train, Ash Grunwald, Sparkadia and The Rubens, OXBLVD will head to CMJ Music Festival (NYC) in October. From there, the band plan to perform in Washington DC, Philadelphia and Boston before heading back down to Texas and on to the West Coast.

Currently in the studio with renowned Producer Tony Buchen (The Preatures, The Falls), the band is hoping their highly anticipated next EP will be released in January 2015 just in time for them to get back to the US for SXSW 2015 in March followed by another North American tour and dates on the Summer Festival circuit. OXBLVD's live performance is a storm that keeps audiences howling at the moon, drinking to lost loves and chasing it all down with a boozy shot of sweat-soaked rock.

Move. Shake. Heartbreak. OXBLVD.
