Bio

Paper Round, a band with 82 years of experience between the 4 of them, have a unique sound which draws from a range of influences. Everything from classic rock icons to folk singer-songwriters have inspired the sound of this band. The most significant being the 80s post-punk movement and the 21st century indie-rock DIY ethic. The band fuse this DIY charisma with the chorus driven post-punk charm, along with introspective lyricism wise beyond their years to create a sound that is uniquely their own.

Over the past few years they’ve gained a foothold in their local scene on the Gold Coast. 2020 brings the project to the rest of the world starting with their debut single Rabbit Hole.

It's like Paper Round have unlocked the door that was keeping back a whole torrent of mood. Hard not to get caught up in the release of it all with Paper Round.

Such a sucker for this new one from Paper Round. I can really hear how talented you all are at playing. Great songwriting too. This one's got a classic feel, that heart on sleeve energy you find from acts like Catfish And The Bottlemen and the way it ramps up at the end is a winner at heart for me.

that bit where the harmonies come in on 'downnnnn' is just so good. what a considered, smart debut from paper round that grows into such a surround sound beauty. and how's that little solo at the end?!
