Hailing from Perth, Western Australia, Pathogen are five-piece dedicated to giving new life to the musical genre of metal. Combining intricate and epic melodies with powerful groove sections and rich acoustic passages, Pathogen have developed a unique style which is often described as an intelligent blend of melodic metal bands such as In Flames or Opeth as well more groove-orientated bands like Pantera or Carcass, In 1996 Pathogen released their 1st demo entitled Tyranny of Hatred which sold out in the first few months of its release and helped Pathogen establish an underground following. It was their 2nd demo Nightfall, was released in 1998, that quickly established Pathogen as one of the most respected metal acts on the local scene to date.
