Petanque formed in 1999 to perform the odd little songs of Perth artist and composer Anton Mckay. Sharing members with several other prestigious Western Australian bands (Schvendes, The Kill Devil Hills, The Automasters and Cinema Prague), Petanque play uniquely quirky, poignant, slightly melancholic pop. The band has received considerable local airplay on RTRFM with a double A side radio-only single "Happiness/Over the Town" released in 1995. A self-funded album ("Songs to Help You Feel Better") is set to be released late 2006 early 2007.
