Bio

Growing up in Darwin in the 2000’s, 17 year old Phoebe Wear began guitar and singing lessons at the age of ten. With Missy Higgins, Pink and Taylor Swift playing on the family sound system, it was the vocals of modern R&B singers such as Ella Mai and Jhene Aiko that resonated with Phoebe and inspired her to begin writing her own lyrics.

Before turning 16, Phoebe won People’s Choice in the NT Song of the Year Awards (2017) with her song “Castaway” and was a finalist in the NT Young Achievers awards (2018). Involved in community projects around Darwin, Phoebe caught the eye of local artists Caiti Baker, James Mangohig and Serina Pech who saw great potential in Phoebe’s love and dedication to music.

Her butter-toned vocals and silky harmonies are showcased on her first co-produced demo “Think Twice”, a post break up song in the vain of new pop R&B. Phoebe’s journey is only just beginning and if “Think Twice” is anything to go by, it will be a long and fruitful one.

Phoebe's voice is a warm breeze on a Spring afternoon and the extra vocal layers only make the wind feel even more right.
