About
Pills are a four piece band making electronic music in Sydney, Australia. Pills are Ces Hotbake (Vocals), Andy Gorehol (Production, Synth, Samplers), Bistro (Production, Arrangements) and Kevin Pringle (Synth, Bass). Pills formed out of a love of the Bristol Trip Hop movement in the 90s (Tricky, Massive Attack, Portishead) as well as various other electronic, pop and vocal projects. Weary reverbed vocals by Ces Hotbake give a subtle reminder to acts like Everything But The Girl, Nina Simone and Fiona Apple while Andy Gorehol and Bistro’s production can often reference anything from RZA to Depeche Mode to Butthole Surfers. Its this eclectic take on an ethos created in the 1990’s which has partly contributed to Pills attracting a quickly growing fanbase in Australia and overseas. A new single ‘Slugger’ is out late 2015 with an EP early in 2016.
