As is the spirit of many garage bands, The Pipes began when original members (Braid, Joel and Matt) heard the bangings of Harley on his drum kit down the road. Boasting the combined drumming talent of an enthusiastic (but brain damaged) monkey, the trio realised that if they were ever going to reach a point where their music wouldn’t make peoples’ ears and eyes bleed, they would need this kid to drum for them. It took a few months to finally get the balls to knock on his door, but eventually Harley generously agreed to complete the band. And they’ve been progressively sucking less ever since. Featuring not one but two lead singers, The Pipes have concocted a diverse repertoire of songs with influences ranging from the brit rock styles of Oasis and Arctic Monkeys to American stylings of Jeff Buckley.
