Bio

Polarize share new jam ‘Housebound’ “Thought it’d be fun idea to put some music out recorded entirely at home.

Seeing as we can’t all get together, we recorded all our parts separately then sent them off to the infamous Simon Dodd for mixing. There’s more to come in the series, maybe some covers maybe some more oddball songs.

The first of the ‘housebound sessions’ is a song about being stuck inside all day with nothing to do but write songs. Kinda tongue in cheek. Very meta.” - Rudie Dodd

Taking on a palette of influences, from the British post-punk sounds of The Clash and New Order through to more modern takes from MGMT and The Strokes.

Polarize's debut single ‘Do What You Want’, released in July 2018, received praise from Richard Kingsmill at triple j and extensive community airplay across the country. Since then the band has released a handful of singles, including December release 'Meet Me In The Middle', and have built up a hefty live following. Playing extensively throughout Melbourne’s live music scene, with shows at The Tote, The Grace, The Espy, Workers Club and Yah Yahs, before embarking on a club tour through Japan, which took them to Kobe, Osaka, Kyoto and finally three sweaty shows in Tokyo.

it's telling of your talents and creative noggins that something so sunny and fun can result from a year and situation that's.......... not that.

Classic guitar pop with some kooky touches that I reckon will win you over quick.

you wouldn't know this was created separately then glued together, it feels seamless. well, as seamless as this wacky, fun, psych bliss sound can be.
