The PROXY is an alternative rock and hip hop act from the Blue Mountains west of Sydney fusing rock, funk, pop, and rap influences. Since 2016 The PROXY has supported some of the country's biggest rap artists including Seth Sentry, Mind Over Matter (Smizzy), and most recently Butterfingers, performed at the The Goodomabah Aboriginal Film Festival, and headlined the Katoomba Live and Local micro festival in April 2018. Inspired by the protest songs of Rage Against the Machine/Prophets of Rage, Bodycount, and with the funk of the Chili Peppers, The PROXY strive to be a voice for those who don't have or can't find one, to highlight the inequality and injustices we see around us and in our own lives, and rock out in the process!
"Seemingly blending a love of hip-hop with the melodic influence of groups such as Dire Straits or The Eagles, The Proxy enlivened and relaxed in equal measure" - The Haze Magazine, April 2018
