Bio

After several months of quietly working together on demos in a sub-industrial suburb of inner city Brisbane, newcomers PYNES have officially released their gritty, dense first single, ‘Lighting Fires.’ Recorded at The Plutonium Studios in Brisbane in late 2015, and produced by Australian artist Jonathan Boulet, 'Lighting Fires' is a blurry rush of distorted bass, thumping percussion and moody, wraithlike vocals that perfectly compliment the song’s doleful lyrical content. The band has just played shows with Melbourne's Olympia in Queensland, and support Abbe May on July 2.

WOW WHAT IS THIS!!!! This one had me on my toes the whole way. I needed to know what was going to happen next. This is an incredible experience, and that slight change at 2:10 was solid. This is fking cool.

Wherein PYNES capture what it must be like to be pursued by the reaper - tension simmering away while darkness nips at your heels.
