Bio

The Quagaars are a rock band of sorts that consists of Prime8 and Checkers, with occasional assistance from whoever is interested. The band that became The Quagaars started off in the year 2000. Prime8 and Checkers started writing and recording songs under the names 'Glass Onion' and 'The Glass Tree Memorial Band'. After a series of line up and name changes, they became “The Quagaars”. Prime8: 12-String Guitar, Guitar, Fretless Bass, Banjo, Theremin, Synth, Piano, Keyboards, Drums and Vocals. Checkers: Drums, Guitar, Synth, Piano, Keyboards, Saxophone and Vocals. The first album, “Dodge City Tombstone” was written and recorded between 2000 and 2010. After various technical holdups, it was finally pressed on vinyl in 2012. It features 12 original songs and a fairly obscure George Harrison song. Some achievements and accomplishments: - Wrote and recorded the theme song for C31’s “The Gorilla Position”. - Made their first album completely independently. - Wrote and recorded music for various Pro Wrestling events in Melbourne.
