Quaint Attraction have been kicking around on the local Adelaide punk scene for years now, some might say too many, but our passion to put on a fun and engaging live show continues to smolder as we develop our sound and grow. Having seen a number of line-up changes over the years, each member has brought something new that leads to a pretty eclectic range of influences. It has always been a struggle for us to describe our sound, but over the last 12 months with the recent addition of Matt on lead guitars to the band, we're now starting to discover who we are and what we want to bring to the Adelaide music scene.
Everything about Quaint Attraction is DIY. Management, booking, promotion, recording, production, and even film clips. It has been a baptism of fire at times, our debut EP Made It On Your Own took almost 18 months to record and produce across 2015 and 2016. It has been a game changer for us, as we started to get our music out into the world and reach new, passionate audiences that have now joined us on our journey.
Taking what we learned from our debut release, we sat down to record our latest single Control That I Can't Find in late 2017, for a January 2018 release. The new single showcases a refined direction, bringing infectiously punchy instrumentation alongside a heartfelt story to produce a sound we are really proud of. Subtle influences come from our personal music tastes, groovy Chili Peppers inspired licks in the lead guitar and bass, and hard hitting percussion guided by an appreciation for Australia's heavier music scene. The track was launched to rave reviews from both professionals and fans alike, and shows a bright and exciting direction that we can't wait to continue.
"The vocals on here show the emotion that is in the lyrics... Once the chorus kicks in, the hard hitting instrumentation from the beginning comes back and adds more" - Live A Little Bit Louder
" The track kicks off with a nice diddy of a riff before erupting with that infectious Quaint Attraction signature sound" - From The Depths Entertainment
