Bio

Promising a sound that is completely their own, the Geelong based outfit offer a sunny spirit to confusing emotions relating to friendship, innocence and the unabashed naivety of falling in and out of love. Their captivating live performances are bolstered by their distinctive close-knit vocal style, with jaunty and playfully arranged percussive ditties as their signature.

While conceiving the material for their forthcoming debut album Rach took her music on a solo endeavour to Europe in 2015, playing a string of 27 shows across 10 countries, returning in 2017 with The Pines. In 2018 the five-piece regrouped in the studio to complete what would become the first singles from their impending release.

Weapon of Love' was the first single to launch in June 2018, reaching #4 on the iTunes Singer Songwriter charts. The re-discovered 'I Wanna See You' was next, peaking at #2 on the AMRAP regional charts, followed by 'Underground'. 'Hindsight' was the final teaser for the record, arriving in February and receiving airplay on Triple J and its sister station and Double J.

The album was recorded live at Burwood Sound Studios with Lee Bradshaw and is first project to celebrate Rach's collaboration with 'The Pines' - four remarkable vocalists, instrumentalists and performers in their own right. With the younger Brennan, Liam on bass, Cam playing keys, Levi as lead guitarist and Kane on drums, they are inspired and armed with ambition; the perfect response to Rach's longing for a line-up of like-minded, brilliant musicians.

Rach Brennan & The Pines are stoked to be presenting their fully-loaded debut LP which will equally entertain you as it will move you.

"This group has a winning recipe for success. Accessible tunes that offer memorable melodies and catchy hooks to stick to your bones" - Eliana Fermi, Staccatoofy

"The sunny-side up song construction and philosophy is just so infectious and makes an ordinary weekend, a fabulous weekend, instead. It's a sound that we'd not heard for a long, long time" - Come Here Floyd

I want to slow dance to this at a festival late at night. It speaks so many truths and those harmonies at the end a great. It's always a solid effort from Rach and the gang! Sad and beautifully humble.

Need something to put a smile on your face?

Press play on this one!

It makes me so happy, every time I play it I feel like I am on the verge of public outbursts of laughter and dancing (like no one's watching - cliche but, true!). It's so rad!!!
