Rachael Lia is a First Nations singer/songwriter originally from Ngunnawal Country (Canberra). Rachael relocated to Naarm (Melbourne) to pursue her passion for music by enrolling in a Bachelor Degree at Collarts (The Australian College of The Arts) and has spent years being mentored by some of Australia’s most influential musical icons such as; Ella and Jesse Hooper (Killing Heidi), Dallas Frasca and Ainslie Wills, just to name a few. Rachael completed her degree during lockdown in 2021. Rachael’s accolades so far include performing twice for the Online Music Festival Isol-aid, taking part in Leaps and Bounds Festival as part of Yawulyu for First Nations Woman alongside the remarkable Allara and Alice Skye, performing alongside Jen Cloher for Green Music Australia’s online event Climate Fridays, performing live for Humankind Festival 2020, opening for Kira Puru as part of Dallas Frasca, featuring in a film clip for Meg Mac, directed by Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore and Michelle Grace ...
