Rae Leigh is an independent Australian singer songwriter. Rae Leigh started on piano at the age of six, followed by vocal lessons, drums and guitar in high school. She grew up with Christian and Pop influences before being embraced by Country music at song-writing retreat in 2015 with Allan Caswell, Lachlan Bryan, Karl Broadie & Aleyce Simmonds. Her vocal inspirations and tone could be described as a mix of, Shania Twain, Amy Winehouse, Beyonce and Sandi Thom.

In January 2020 Rae Leigh launched her debut single ‘All I Can Do’ which garnered acclaim from local radio at 98.9 Best Country, 107.3 Juice Radio and Gold Coast Blank magazine. Rae has followed this up with a further 4 singles with an impending EP to release in early 2021. Since launching her music onto Spotify & Apple she has received over 80K streams.

Even with covid restrictions Rae has organised and participated in multiple online and in person festivals and gigs. In March Rae co-hosted an online music festival with Country Kickback. Her brave and inspiring music has resonated with other women resulting in an increased demand to perform at self-empowerment women's events.

Rae Leigh was selected to play at ‘The Journey to Worthy’ event in the Gold Coast playing to over 100 local women encouraging self-belief and worthiness. She has been selected for international opportunities online including ‘Music with a Conscience’ from The Women of Substance team in the US.

In October 2020 Rae won a songwriting competition giving her $10,000 value to record the song and produce a music video with JMC College in Brisbane. This song will be released in early 2021. She has been selected as a finalist for the Country Music on Keppel Festival talent competition which will be held in November 2020.

Rae Leigh has launched and hosts her own podcast ‘Songwriter Trysts’ which is a safe space for artists to share their stories and discuss the art of song writing and emotions, all the great things that build amazing songs. This is to validate, educate and encourage song writing and connections within the song-writing community. The 40 guests that have featured on the show have ranged from international to local talent, with the podcast in high demand there is already a large backlog of new applications for future episodes.

Rae’s songs tell her story and share a message of hope and love, that despite adversity, there is always a way through and to focus on the light in the darkest of times. The songs that she is sharing this year are collaborations and independent songs that tell the story of her journey thus far finally reaching a healing at a level freeing her to be able to share and perform these intimate songs with us.
