Bio

RAHAB is the stage name for singer, songwriter & producer Natasha K Newling.

RAHAB draws on Newling’s unique background of professional dance, acting and music production as well as significant personal adversity to create an empowered artistic vision, one that presents the experience of the world around her.

RAHAB shines as an unapologetic, authentic storyteller combining principals of dance, acting and music. Her music could be described as eclectic electronic pop with an experimental playfulness meets soulful grounding vocals of a woman’s authentic journey.

Newling moved to Melbourne in 2016 to further develop her artistry, while also performing in both Sydney and Melbourne – the latest performance was in March 2020 at the Moonee Valley festival. Currently Natasha is studying a Bachelor Degree in Music and Audio engineering at Box Hill Institute

‘Will It End?’ is the debut single from RAHAB. The song is about the effects of technological consumption & isolation on mental health.
“As I entered this anime wormhole in my own life, and lost sense of reality, my life became only relevant if I was online. What I didn’t realise at the time was how a volatile housemate situation also impacted the song. Only on reflection can I see the perseverance and hope that underpins the entire track which eventually led to me taking action within my own life and getting myself out of an abusive living situation.”

it's twinkling but moody, a real nice first slice from rahab.

Great work Natasha with this fizzy, blippy bloppy electronic production. It's the ideal counterweight to the bruised songwriting.
