Breaking into the rock scene, The Refuge have been playing for over three years. Despite being seventeen, the band’s sound is heavily influenced by classic rock bands of the 70’s and grunge bands of the 90’s as well as current rock bands on the scene. Their thunderous sound is made for live gigs and is expressed through the energy emitted by their powerful stage presence. Often compared with bands like Nirvana, The Doors and Silverchair, the band’s sound is still unique, they go further and experiment with other styles creating a nice blend of genres. Powerful vocals, staggering guitar riffs, energetic drumming, killer bass playing and the definitive keyboard sound makes up The Refuge. Currently working on their second album which will showcase their ever-improving skills and songwriting, The Refuge were recently ranked third on the bands to watch list after King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Rolling Blackouts by the Weekly Review.
