Bio

Ripple Effect Band are a group of women from remote NT who have been playing music together since high school. Reflecting the multilingual nature of their hometown of Maningrida, they sing in four different Aboriginal languages as well as English.

Straight from great success at Gattjirrk and Bak’bididi Festivals, they came to Sydney in December 2017 to record four songs with producers Paul Mac, Clint Bracknell and Jodie Kell. This recording is a chance for these vibrant women to tell stories about their land and their culture through the language of music that speaks to all.

This my favourite discovery of late. The build up towards the end of the track is magic.
