Bio

The music of Perth Singer/Songwriter Robert Hinton is a carefully moulded craft that blends the beautiful storytelling of folk and roots music with some of the more hard hitting attributes of modern rock.

“Footprints” is an exquisite duet featuring female Perth artist Kim Stolen and a perfect example of Hinton’s raw sincerity as a songwriter and display’s the versatility he has in transcending between different styles and dynamics of music.

The new 10 track album “There Are No Winners Here, Only Beginners Here” is Hinton’s strongest work to date since his inception release “Winter Sun (2013)” and follow up “Explaining Colour (2015)”. Luring the listener in with the bluesy, guitar driven opening track “Moth to the Flame” and taking them on a journey through a number of energetic and reflective moods, ballads, sing-alongs and ambient trips before closing out proceedings with the appropriately named “When the Sunlight Fades”. The Album will be available via iTunes, Spotify and various streaming platforms from May 11th 2018

Performing both solo and as a four piece band it is the undeniable passion that Hinton has for music, the gripping guitar tones and the unforgettable vocal melodies that make his shows so special.
Amongst Delivering these performances up and down the west coast Hinton has also had the pleasure to play in support of James Reyne of Australian Crawl, Mental as Anything and Darryl Braithwaite.

Hinton’s music will most certainly appeal to fans of Australian legend Paul Dempsey, Canada’s City & Colour and British prog rock icons Porcupine Tree but with his own unique take and draw from past and today’s music Hinton’s work truly has something to offer to everyone.

Hauntingly lovely voice and charming guitar, I like how the song has that "out at sea" feel without being too naff
