Bio

Ruby May speaks of love and longing in her new single, Follow.
Follow is a fresh note in Ruby May’s evolving sound as she blends her folk-roots into a more electronic expression. Her raw, transparent lyrics go hand in hand with the soft, sweet tones of her voice.

Ruby May began her journey as a music artist in 2014 with her debut EP 'Wanderer’ and a launch show that sold out The Spectrum, Darlinghurst. The years following this brought with it two jaw surgeries. These two major surgeries caused her to take a step back from singing, and she decided to have a break from releasing music all together.

In 2017, she came back with her single 'Chasing The Sun,’ a song about racing the fleeting daylight to catch the one you love before the day is over. After the release of Chasing The Sun, Ruby May played in venues around Sydney, including The Gallery at OAF and Brighton Up Bar.

After spending the last years writing and developing her sound, Ruby May has come through with 'Follow' a track that blends her folky voice with the electronic sounds that she loves. Ruby has teamed up with producer Antonia Gauci for this track and is working with her on the second single which will be released early 2020.

Wasn't sure at first but this track opens up like a spring morning. So lush and lovely.

Really sweet voice, reminds me a little of Owl Eyes. Given your indie-folk background, I reckon it would be cool to hear perhaps some guitars incorporated into this new sound direction but keep playing around with it, it's great that you're already exploring different elements.
