It’s bold, confident, and oh so good” – Sounds of Oz The music of Melbourne based Run Rabbit Run is best described as Progressive Folk Rock. Their sound sways between sombre folk, raucous fast-paced country, and often leans into the realm of atmospheric and climactic prog-rock. Citing artists such as Noah & The Whale, Hey Rosetta!, and Fleet Foxes as influences; Run Rabbit Run formed out of a passion for the honesty that folk music breathes. Their name is derived from lyrics in the opening track of Pink Floyd’s iconic Dark Side of the Moon. “We’ve always been inspired by bands that create rich soundscapes and push the boundaries of their genre.” The 2017 release of the band’s debut EP, entitled Bloodline, displayed a darker and more atmospheric tone to the band’s song-writing than their previous 2014/15 single-track releases, with many of the tracks foregoing the up-tempo country/folk vibe in favour of more ...
