Bio

Runcible Spoon is a duo comprising Christina Low and Jocelyn Moen, based in the Blue Mountains, NSW Australia. Jocelyn Moen is a singer-songwriter & music educator who has worked in Australia, Europe & Canada. She has written, directed & conducted musicals for children, both here in Australia & overseas. She has performed at international festivals including Peat’s Ridge (Australia), Transit Lounge (Berlin) & Cinema des Antipodes (St Tropez, France). Christina Low is a singer-songwriter who writes music in English, Indonesian & Chinese. She has an environmental science & busking background, and lives in a treehouse with her family & a lounge of lizards. Both Christina & Jocelyn are mothers to toddlers and their music is influenced by their adventures as parents, cultural backgrounds, love of nature & travels abroad. Runcible’s diverse music can be described as a hybrid of blues, folk, roots and indie styles, with a generous sprinkle of humour, and a side of songs that you can sway, shake, groove and relax along to. Runcible Spoon’s self-titled debut album is out now, containing all original songs with a wide appeal to children, while also resonating with parents and other adult listeners and music lovers.

I really loved this track - I loved the laid-back guitars and the vocal harmonies in the choruses!

Two women's voices (one warm and dark, the other bright and filled with light) weave memories, melody and harmony - a tender and wistful reflection on the costs and joys of motherhood and the stages in our lives. Persuasively backed by percussion and guitar.
