Bio

. Hey hey. I thought I'd let you know that I have just released two new albums. Birds and Skeleton Bird.

I feel like they have really tapped into my love of English musicians from the late 60s and early 70s such as Nick Drake and Roy Harper combined with California musicians from the same period (Dennis Wilson, Gene Clark etc). It was unintentional but I've received a lot of feedback that this is the case so I'm quite happy. I was particularly happy when someone recently said Meddle era Pink Floyd and side 2 of Led Zep 3!

There are a lot of instruments on Birds. I play all of the guitars and keyboards and I had these amazing people Andrew Alves, Elizabeth Taylor, Lucas James Barbuto, Sarah Taylor, Andre Hooke, Patrick O’Brien, Andrew Bonnici, Jen Pearson, Ruth Lindseyand Michael McInerney add drums, bass, banjo, cello, violin, mandolin, glockenspiel, double bass, melodica and vocals. Skeleton Bird, the second disc, is the same record but stripped of all the instruments back to the original fingerpicked guitar and vocals. It is much more stark than Birds.

Here is a link to Birds. https://ryansterling.bandcamp.com/album/birds

Skeleton Bird can easily be found on the same page.

Feel free to have a listen. You can download for free or pay what you want with credit card or PayPal.

I also have hardcopies of the 2cd set which I can mail for $20 including postage.

A lot of the songs end up finishing quite differently to how they start. For example the track Through Your Hands really builds when Boogs' drums kick in at the first chorus and then Lucas brings the bass in at the start of the second verse.

I really hope you like them. If you do, please tell someone as I'm useless at publicity stuff. I'd prefer to just make the next record! go to facebook and/or bandcamp for any details xxxxxxx http://ryansterling.bandcamp.com www.facebook.com/ryansterlingmusic thanks
