Sabre Siren is an indie electro band from Brisbane with sweet female vocals, guttural guitar and naïve electronic melodies. Influenced by the likes of New Order, the Cure and Ladyhawke, Sabre Siren combine guitar band and dance traditions to create sound that's at times dark, but always dancey and with playful twists. Conquering the challenges of performing electronic music live, they’ve embraced drums in the absence of a drummer and songs with five synth parts without a five handed pianist. They’ve also been known to perform with a mysterious mannequin on stage in place of an apparently missing member. “I don’t know if it’s us dancing or the vibrations of the music, but when we’re at full flight the mannequin gets dancing too,” said vocalist Brooke. Making tunes together for the last five years, Sabre Siren have played gigs at the Powerhouse, Rics, X&Y and the Hideaway.
