Bio

Salt Lake City: An ensemble which has been described as a unique blend of classical & jazz influenced performers who have an alternative approach to their dynamic and unique melodramatic sound. Eclectic and genre-defying are two terms bandied around when describing a band with alarming frequency, but Salt Lake City are genuinely exactly that. Salt Lake City meander through genres, not afraid to explore their musicality whenever so inspired with references to the intricacies of human tendencies and emotions. The instrumental layering gives a depth and warmth that draws in the listener in with an acoustic guitar vein that runs through all their music. With a number of instruments & layering you might expect a barrage of sound to overwhelm the senses, but Salt Lake City are a unique ensemble in every sense. They effectively defy typical genre boundaries and make their cinematic, Classical and Jazz influenced alternative musical story telling on their own terms. Sean Hamilton reaches for the double bass with as much ease as he does bass guitar. Pianist Natacha Dupuy doesn’t hesitate to let her Classical background shine through in her piano and keyboard playing. Ruth Rogers-Wright’s smooth jazz vocals enrich the melodies and acoustic guitarist and vocalist Vivienne Louise Tatnell embodies the story-telling charm of the group. Upcoming live performances: Friday 22nd @ Bar Oussou Myspace Website: www.myspace.com/saltlakecitybandmusic Manager: Vivienne Louise Tatnell 0421 543 904 viviennelouisetatnell@gmail.com
