Satellites started in late 2013. After a handful of tours and local Brisbane shows the band went through a slow patch with multiple member changes, most importantly a change in singer, where Mitch Chamberlain stepped up from guitar to vocals. Mid 2015 saw Satellites test the waters with a new track titled “Glass Jaw” which was received rather well among the Australian scene with features on Triple J and Unearthed. In 2016, following some more unfortunate lineup changes "Sateez" (as they cheekily refer to themselves) released a 2nd track titled “Home Sweet Home” - which again was received favourably by Triple J and the public. These releases were each followed up by a plethora of heavy hitting support slots, such as Neck Deep, The Wonder Years and Knuckle Puck, The Story So Far and Man Overboard, Motion City Soundtrack, Real Friends and many more, which solidified the band's spot as a definite up-and-coming force in the Australian music scene.
