Bio

Your sister from a different mister, Seasta Chani puts the fem into female hip hop. A dynamic & formidable performer, she combines sassy melodic hooks with hard-hitting, conscious lyrics. Hailing from Perth city with a degree in Performance, she has been rhyming and traveling the world since 2004, performing with groups such as Terijium, The Horticulturalists and Beat Specific. After planting her feet back on home soil, in 2011 she branched out as a solo lyricist and in 2012 finally started recording her music, releasing a self-titled EP which put her on the Oz hip hop map. In 2013 she released a soundtrack to her Perth FringeWorld Festival original production Bows Don`t Go which saw her go back to her expressive and diverse performing roots, showcasing her versatile song writing ability. The album crosses an eclectic mix of musical genres with collaborations from Perth talents such as jazz pianist Tom O`Halloran, producer and songstress Mei Saraswati and hip hop super power Rob Shaker. This solo musical production was nominated for a FringeWorld Award for Best Music Act.
She has been working on brand new music since then and in 2014 released Finding My Feet, the first single to her forthcoming album Life Sounds Like, along with a critically well received film clip by David Vincent Smith https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhyBv-lQZfM. Now in 2015, her long awaited debut hip hop album Life Sounds Like is finally here. Successfully Crowdfunded, the album once again sees collaborations with a plethora of Perth`s leading musical talents. Available on iTunes and at seastachani.bandcamp.com
