    Its been a long time coming for the guys in SECOND WINTER, who have spent every Tuesday night for the last 4 years honing their songs in an industrial shed in the wet and wild southern town of Albany. Lead by local rock stalwart Geoff Scott, the band POKERFACE was prominent throughout the 90’s, gigging regularly in Albany and Perth. 1997 saw the band “Unearthed” by Triple J radio and record a promo single. Reincarnated as a recording project with drummer Ben Varcoe in 2002, the pair regularly rehearsed before Darren Hutchens joined as second guitarist, with Steve Tucknoll on bass. The new lineup developed their own sound in isolation, referencing punk and the alternative sounds of the late 80’s and early 90’s. They played pub shows and parties in Albany and its surrounds, offering something excitingly different to the mainly blues, acoustic and covers scene.
